The Ten Paw Steps
to becoming an MPBA Elite Kennel Member
PAW PRINT 1
Be an MPBA member in good standing
PAW PRINT 2
Be an MPBA chapter member and attend at least six meetings per year
PAW PRINT 3
Hold a state license and perform annual kennel inspections
PAW PRINT 4
Hold a USDA license and perform annual kennel inspections
PAW PRINT 5
Have your kennel veterinarian perform a hands-on health check of each dog in your kennel annually
PAW PRINT 6
Have an exercise and socialization program in place that is approvedby a licensed veterinarian
PAW PRINT 7
Have the proper equipment to microchip puppies
PAW PRINT 8
Use MPBA’s vaccine protocol1*
(unless otherwise requested by your client)

PAW PRINT 9
Earn at least 24 CEUs (Continued Education Units) per year.
Note: If you are unsure where to obtain CEUs, please contact a Chapter board member or an MPBA Officer for more information.
PAW PRINT 10
Volunteer at least 24 hours per year to the pet industry
(i.e. MPBA events or other pet-related events and shows)
Each member must pledge to give the highest quality of care and to follow your veterinarian’s instructions for the best health and welfare of all animals within your kennel.
