Who are we?
Pet producers take pride in their responsibilities for proper care and handling of their pets. The following code describes general consideration in the raising and handling of pets.

 
MPBA Pet Producers purpose:
  1. To provide food, water and care necessary to protect the health and welfare of the pets in their care.
  2. To provide disease prevention practices to protect the health of those pets, including veterinary care as needed.
  3. To provide clean well-kept facilities to allow safe, humane, and efficient pet management.
  4. To use humane methods when it becomes necessary to dispose of a pet.
  5. To provide all personnel with a working knowledge of the pets, including proper handling techniques.
  6. To make daily inspection of all pets and confirm that their daily needs are being met.
  7. To provide transportation for pets that avoids undue stress caused by overcrowding, excessive time spent in transit, or by cruelty during loading and unloading.
  8. Those persons who willfully mistreat pets will not be tolerated in this Association.
  9. To keep updated on advancements and changes in the industry, and to make decisions based on sound production practices, giving due consideration to the welfare of the pets.
  10. To conduct all business in an ethical manner.
  11. To follow the recommendation set forth in the above statements, the Missouri Pet Breeders Association Code of Ethics, USDA regulations, and Missouri State regulations.
